Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom has refuted claims that four public institutions of higher learning in the Klang Valley are being used to spread Syiah teachings among Malaysian students.

While urging the parties making the allegation to expose the institutions, he also asked them to furnish details so that the authorities could take action.

"One must have proof in order to make accusations. But the reports by several local newspapers today on the matter did not reveal the names of the four institutions," he said when asked to comment on the issue.

He was met by reporters after handing over aid to 500 poor people in the Jerai parliamentary constituency

in conjunction with Aidilfitri, here, today.

Jamil Khir, who is also Jerai member of parliament, said although there was no proof in many cases, the authorities still had to investigate the reports.
