Kedah PAS today expressed sympathy to all victims of the storm which hit the Kedah PAS Complex in Kota Sarang Semut, the venue of the 63rd PAS congress.

Its commissioner, Dr Ahmad Fakruddin Sheikh Fakhrurazi said the disaster did not affect the PAS general assembly being held at the complex until tomorrow.

"All programmes of the 63rd PAS general assembly can continue as usual," he said in a statement.

Ahmad Fakruddin expressed thanks to everybody who helped the victims of the disaster.

A total of 19 people were hurt, including a man who was fell unconscious in the storm at about 7.25 pm that destroyed the main tent at the complex.

The tent t destroyed was used to exhibit products by Haraki Entrepreneurship Club (KU-Haraki).

Before the assembly starts today, PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan told the delegates that were no casualties in the storm.

He expressed sympathy to the victims and family and hopes that they remain patient with the test.

A Bernama check found the disaster area under guard and that cleaning work was being done by the PAS assembly secretariat.

All media representatives were not allowed to approach the area as it was unsafe.
