Security checks in Kuching have been stepped up following the terror attacks in Jakarta recently, said Kuching district police chief ACP Roslan Bek Ahmad.

He advised the public not to panic and to continue with their daily activities as normal.

He told this to reporters after the Kuching police monthly assembly here today.

On crime index in Kuching, he said statistics showed a drop from 2,208 cases in 2014 to 1,805 cases last year.
