The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Investigation Department director turned up at the Johor MACC Office Complex in Tampoi here today, believed to be in connection with the probe into corruption scandal and property scam in the state.

The Toyota Camry carrying Datuk Simi Abdul Ghani was spotted entering the compound of the complex at about 10.40am.

The vehicle was seen leaving the premises four hours later at 2.40pm.

When contacted, Simi confirmed his presence at the complex but declined to comment further.

On Friday, the MACC arrested six people, including the son and the special officer of a state executive councillor, two developers and a lawyer.

The MACC said all the suspects were believed to have played a part in the reduction of premium for land approved for housing and industrial projects, as well as conversion of the status of various premises in Johor. - BERNAMA
