The Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013-2025 is set to be the catalyst for the development of Tamil schools in the country.

Action Plan for Future of Tamil Schools coordinator, Prof Dr NS Rajendran said this is based on 11 strategic shifts which among others aim to provide equitable access to quality education to bring Tamil schools up to
international level.

"The Malaysian Education Development Plan has received positive feedback from the public especially stakeholders of Tamil schools such as teachers, former students and NGOs.

"The Action Plan for the Future of Tamil Schools that will be tabled is in line with the Malaysian Education Development Plan," he told Bernama.

On Sept 11, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched the Preliminary Report of the Malaysian Education Development Plan which outlines 11 strategic shifts and operations to transform the country's education system.
