Police have arrested a man to assist in the shooting case involving Customs deputy director-general Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim in Putrajaya on April 27.

According to a statement from the Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh, the 56 year-old man was arrested in Petaling Jaya at 8.30am yesterday.

“The suspect will be brought in front of the court, where a remand order will be a sought under Section 1117 Criminal Procedure Code to facilitate the investigation,” said Mohamad.

Shaharuddin was shot three times by two men on a motorcycle when he was on his way to the office in Putrajaya.

Meanwhile, in another case, two men have been arrested involving a shooting of a hairstylist at Billion roundabout in Cheras on April 26.

“The suspects are aged between 35 and 40 years old. They will be remanded until Wednesday to assist in the investigation,” he said.
