Police detained a 24-year-old man believed to be actively involved in robbing senior citizens as his main targets.

Negeri Sembilan police chief, DCP Datuk Jaafar Mohd Yusof said the suspect was arrested at Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson, last week in connection with 23 robbery cases involving senior citizens in Seremban, Nilai and Port Dickson.

"The modus operandi he used to rob his victims was by approaching them and pretending to ask if the house was for rent and then asked for a drink.

"When the victims entered the house to serve drinks, he will follow the victims and rob them," he told a press conference here Monday.

He said police also seized 13 watches of various brands, eight handphones, three pawn notes, a laptop, a Samsung tablet, a gold necklace, two pairs of gold earrings, two gold lockets, a silver ring, a camera, two knives and a Ford car.

Jaafar also advised the senior citizens to be more alert, especially when they were alone in the house.
