Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan's counsel, Matthias Chang, was called in to record a statement at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) today on the case against the former vice-president of UMNO Batu Kawan.

Matthias turned up as a witness at the Dang Wangi IPD at around 9.30am today with his lawyer Zainol Zakaria and another counsel Ahmad Bazlan Che Kassim, to assist with police investigations.

The matter was confirmed by Ahmad Bazlan when met by reporters at the Dang Wangi IPD.

"The testimony was recorded for an hour...we will return to Dang Wangi IPD on Friday, to resume the testimony," he said.

In another development, Ahmad Bazlan said Khairuddin was still admitted at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, as he was suspected to have contracted dengue.

He was remanded for six days beginning Sept 19 under Section 124C of the Penal Code on charges of performing activities that were detrimental to parliamentary democracy.

On Sept 23, Khairuddin was re-arrested at the Jalan Duta Court Complex under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA) on charges of attempting to sabotage the country.
