IPOH: An injured suspect in the murder of a single mother at the victim's residence in Taman Perpaduan, here, last night, is currently in stable condition. The suspect had been inflicted with several stab wounds in the incident.

Ipoh district police chief ACP A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the 23-year-old man, who was placed in the red zone of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here, had not regained consciousness after being operated on at about 3 am today.

"The suspect underwent surgery but the doctor said the injuries suffered by the suspect were not serious," Asmadi said when contacted by Bernama here today.

He said the suspect was expected to regain consciousness by tomorrow, and would then be taken to the lock-up for further action.

In the incident at about 8.45 pm yesterday, the police who went to the scene found the body of the victim K. Krishna, 31, with several stab wounds to the chest along with the suspect, who also suffered several stab wounds to his chest.

The victim's two sons, aged six and eight, witnessed the incident but managed to escape to seek help from neighbours who then contacted the police.
