A Myanmar national working in a car wash was slashed to death by 10 assailants while sleeping at the premises in Jalan Merdeka Ria 3, Kampung Baru Ampang, here, this morning.

Ampang Jaya deputy police chief Supt Md Nazri Zawawi said during the attack, the 20-year-old victim was sleeping at the car wash premises when his assailants slashed him with parang.

"Police were informed of a fight at 7.30am and when we arrived, the victim was lying motionless about 100m from the premises. He was slashed in the neck, chest and back," he told reporters at the Ampang Jaya police station.

Md Nazri said initial investigations revealed that during the attack, the victim's eight other colleagues were also in the premises, including a man and woman who suffered injuries as they too were attacked.

He said the body of the victim who had valid travel documents, was later sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre while police are investigating the motive for the attack.
