SEREMBAN: The Negeri Sembilan government is leaving it to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate a logging project in Lenggeng, near here, which was allegedly awarded without following proper procedures.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the state government would not compromise on the matter and would always cooperate with MACC.

"However, the state government's stand is that the project has gone through a transparent and orderly tender award process. Until now, work has been carried out according to the stipulated rules," he said in a statement today.

News reports today said the Negeri Sembilan government was urged to immediately stop timber extraction work from the 500-hectare project area in Lenggeng as the case is allegedly under MACC investigation.
