The Magistrate's Court here today set Oct 13 to mention the case of a former model charged with committing an obscene act by stripping in public last April and a video recording of it became viral on the social websites.

Magistrate Nur'Aminahtul Mardiah Md Nor fixed the date following an application from the prosecution, conducted by deputy public prosecutor S.

Malini Anne, to be given two weeks to submit photographs and recording of the video.

Malini also informed the court that several documents to be submitted during the trial of the case had been handed to the accused, Persana Avril Sollunda, 33.

The court had set three days, from Jan 11 next year, to hear the case.

Persana Avril, who was charged with committing the offence at a chicken rice shop in Jalan Petaling here last April 23, was in court today.

Last Aug 10, the court rule that she was fit to stand trial based on her mental health report issued by the Tanjung Rambutan Hospital.

She was charged under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum three months' jail or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

She is represented by lawyer Kelvin Tan.
