Triad leader 'Ah Hai,' sought in connection with a hand grenade attack in Bukit Bintang, has given a statement to police.

Kuala Lumpur Deputy CID chief ACP Khairi Ahrasa said 'Ah Hai' appeared came to Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters at 9pm to have his statement recorded.

"In fact, he (Ah Hai) was there until 11.45pm. He was not injured," Khairi said in a media statement here, on Tuesday.

The police were looking for 'Ah Hai', a top gangster in Jalan Imbi, as he was believed to be the main target of the hand grenade attack.

A total of 17 witnesses had their statements recorded. Police also studied the CCCTV camera footage at the nightclub in Sun Complex.

"This include routes in nearby areas to track those responsible. The police Forensic Unit is also involved in the invesitgation."

Khairi said two victims were still being treated in hospital while 10 others were discharged after receiving treatment.

"Those who have information on people injured or suffered property damage during the blast can lodge a police report," he added.

Car jockey Tiong Kwong Yie, 36, was killed while 12 others were injured in a grenade attack on Oct 9, believed due to territorial dispute involving triads.
