Police have identified the armed gang suspected of robbing a goldsmith shop at a shopping centre in Persiaran Anggun, Taman Anggun, Rawang near here yesterday.

Gombak police chief ACP Ali Ahmad said the group of six men were identified from initial investigations through closed-circuit television footage obtained from the place of the incident.

"Police are now tracking down the criminals," he said in a statement here today.

In the 6.45pm incident, all the suspects came in three Yamaha 125 motorcycles and three of them entered the premises while another three waited outside.

The three men armed with hammers and a pistol broke four glass showcases and one of them fired a shot at the ceiling before fleeing with jewellery worth more than RM1.5 million.
