The government has been urged to take stern action against Lembah Pantai member of parliament (MP) Nurul Izzah Anwar for meeting princess Jacel H. Kiram, the daughter of former Sulu armed group leader Jamalul Kiram III.

Describing Nurul Izzah's action as a potential threat to national security, Papar MP Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said meeting someone who had been associated with a terrorist group was outrageous and beyond the norm of political practices.

"The question is why there should be a meeting? I expect stern action will be taken against her (Nurul Izzah). I will support any action taken against her, including to refer her to the Parliamentary Rights and Privileges Committee," she told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Monday.

Rosnah who is also Deputy Minister of Works said Sabah people would not forget or forgive Nurul Izzah's action which was considered disrespectful of the people in the state especially those who had been victims of the Lahad Datu intrusion in 2013.

Jacel had also uploaded four photographs of her meeting with Nurul Izzah dated Nov 9 on her Facebook.

Nurul Izzah had allegedly admitted in an earlier statement to meeting Jacel on Nov 9 while in the Philippines with Batu MP Tian Chua in conjunction with a meeting between a PKR delegation and interested parties there.
