Anyone seen as constantly criticising the government will only risk the individual looking like a joker, said People's Progressive Party (PPP) President, Tan Sri M Kayveas.

He views that several opposition leaders including the former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should stop criticising the government as their criticisms have not been entirely left unanswered.

"Mahathir became the prime minister for over 20 year and he has benefited equally from his premiership. We love him (Tun Mahathir), we adore him.

“But when he criticises, it hurts us,” said Kayveas when met at PPP Deepavali Open House, here today.

According to Kayveas, Tun Mahathir should know what he needs to do instead of slamming the government.

“Tun Mahathir should know what he should do. Everybody should tone down because the truth will prevail.
“I don’t they can do much about it as continuous criticising will just make them look like jokers,” he stressed.

Kayveas also expressed his sympathy towards several individuals who criticize the government because they are clueless on what they are doing.
