Datuk Mahfuz Omar urged Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to attend and make his voice heard at the upcoming Dewan Rakyat sitting, which will commence tomorrow.

The Pokok Sena MP said this includes taking part in debates in Parliament on issues that the former deputy prime minister had raised before this.

"I believe Tan Sri Muhyiddin must attend. This is the best platform for him to confront the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Razak).

"I myself mentioned this to him (Muhyiddin) when we met last Friday. I told him that we cannot avoid from taking part in the debate. We must be brave in raising the hot topics which he had been relating to the rakyat," Mahfuz told Astro AWANI when contacted today.

He said the people are awaiting for Muhyiddin to debate as a parliamentarian and face up to the government.

"The people are keen to see what Muhyiddin, as well as Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, will do.

"And if Datuk Seri Najib plans to announce his resignation as Prime Minister, this would be the best time," the PAS central committee member added.

Mahfuz also hoped that the royal address by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah this time around would not contain just praises for the government.

"The rakyat is waiting for a bold speech, a brave speech, so that this legal institution can be free of political grips."

Mahfuz also hoped the 222 parliamentarians would give priority to the country and rakyat, and not just their respective parties when debating issues.
