Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras), an offshoot of the state Barisan Nasional component party, Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP), is all for its 25,000 members from 24 divisions statewide to join the state BN anchor party Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) en bloc.

Its acting president and former Tasik Biru state assemblyman Datuk Peter Nansian said its non bumiputera members could opt to join other BN component parties of their choice.

"The central executive committee (CEC) decided on only one thing that is the next move for us," he told the press after chairing its CEC meeting, which was in full attendance here on Thursday.

"We expect to hand them over to the PBB headquarters before end of next month," he said, adding that the outcome of the applications would determine the party's next move.

TERAS, a BN friendly party was led by Saratok Member of Parliament and former state Social Development Minister Tan Sri William Mawan, who was also a former SPDP president.
