Petronas Raceline Malaysia's Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah won himself a piece of history to become the first Malaysian to land a top three Moto2 finish in the second round of the Campeonato de Espana de Velocidad (CEV Repsol) at Motorland Aragon, Spain, today.

A smooth start combined with a well prepped machine saw the 2010 Cub Prix Champion sideline 35 rivals in Race 1 to take home his maiden podium in second place within 29 minutes 27.524 seconds, just 0.075 seconds ahead of American, Kenny Noyes in third place (29'27.599s).

Winning the 15-lap race was Spaniard, Roman Ramos with 29'11.275s.

"It's hard to believe I finally made it on the podium after a tough time in the unofficial practice on Friday and qualifying on Saturday due to harsh weather conditions.

"I am extremely pleased and I would like to extend my gratitude to the team and sponsor for making this all possible," said Hafizh Syahrin in a statement here today.
