Global PUBG Mobile esports events have always been held to determine who’s the best of the best across the planet, but the upcoming PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI 2021) is going to be a little different than the usual offering – with a US$3 million prize pool, all in the name of charity.

As you can already tell, PMWI 2021 will be split into two divisions, East and West, with 16 teams competing in each – it brings to mind last year’s PUBG Mobile World League (PMWL 2020), due to it adopting an online-only format. Otherwise, everything else is pretty much standard, with the three-day tournament hosting five matches a day, rotating three maps: classic Erangel, sandy Miramar and tropical paradise Sanhok.

PMWI Format

Since PMWI 2021 is a charity event that sees Tencent Games working with Gamers Without Borders, a majority of the US$3 million prize pool will be donated to charity, with every team being rewarded US$5,000 for their participation, regardless of their final placements. Nevertheless, it’s always fun to see PUBG Mobile teams duking it out with each other on an international scale.

PMWI Broadcast

PMWI 2021 will run from 22 – 25 July, with PMWI East and West starting at 6PM and 10.30PM (GMT +8), respectively, daily. You can catch the action on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and Nimo TV.
