Generally, a sex offender or pedophile should stay away from children after their release.

These people are not allowed to be within 1,000 feet of school area, playgrounds or bus stops.

United States (US) laws require the convicted sex offenders to be registered after finish serving his or her sentence.

The rule makes it difficult for them to live a normal life because logically there are children in any city.

There is a place in Pahokee, Florida called the City of Refuge. The place is surrounded by sugar cane fields and houses 120 offenders in 61 houses.

The area may look calm and comfortable, but truth is, the former prisoners are living in exile. The majority of residents are men and they must wear monitoring equipment on their wrist ankle.

Only one female registered sex offenders in the City of Refuge, and she had already met a partner and remarrying there.

Matthew 25 Ministries is a NGO started by Dick Witherow who inspired this placement 26 years ago.

Witherow felt sex offenders require a new place to live due to concerns of the community if they live nearby or in the same neighborhood.

Recently the case of Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin begins to draw attention of Malaysians. The 23 years old was sentenced to five years in prison for possessing of more than 30,000 pornographic images and videos of children.

This case opened the eyes of the public on the existence of pedophilia in Malaysia.

This is not new because previously the murder of Nurin Jazlin Jazimin once becomes a hot topic in 2007, where the eight-year-old was kidnapped and sexually assaulted and murdered. Her body was later found stuffed inside a bag.

In addition, several other cases like the killing of Ang May Hong (1987), Nursyuhada Burak (2000) and Nurul Huda Abdul Ghani (2004) was also associated with pedophiles.

Now the question is, where will the pedophile belong after they are released from prison?
