It was a perfect birthday gift for world number one Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia, winning the Denmark Open men's singles title at Odense, Denmark tonight.

The top seed, who celebrated his 30th birthday today, was given a tight fight from world number nine, Du Pengyu of China before ending the game 15-21, 21-12, 21-19.

Chong Wei bagged a trophy and USD30,000 (RM91,500) prize money.

Meanwhile in the men's doubles final, Malaysian Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong failed to earn the title after being defeated by Shin Baek Choel/Yoo Yeon Seong of South Korea 21-19, 11-21, 19-21.
