Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today expressed his sadness over the death of former Pahang State Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Wan Mohamed Razali Wan Mahussin.

Wan Razali, 67, died at about 5.10 pm today at the Kuantan Medical Centre of complications due to diabetes and hyper tension.

His younger brother, Bukit Ibam Assemblyman Datuk Wan Kadri Wan Mahussin said Wan Mohamed Razali was admitted to the medical centre at about 4 pm today after he complained of chest pain.

"He died at about 5.10 pm with close family members by his side," he said when contacted here.

Wan Kadri said Wan Mohamed Razali's body was taken to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Mosque, Indera Mahkota, for prayer and then brought to Kampung Belimbing for burial tonight.

Wan Mohamad Razali was Pahang State Assembly Speaker from Dec 11, 1999 to April 3, 2013.

He was Chini Assemblyman for four consecutive terms after winning the seat in the 1982 general election.

However, in the 10th general election in 1999, he lost the seat to Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Mohd Jafri Ab Rashid.
