Police found the body of a man in a bush near the City Mosque in Likas at about 7 pm last night.

Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief, ACP M. Chandra said the man, Mohd Ali Baba Kirim Abdullah, 27, who worked as a handphone salesman, was reported missing since May 28 and was believed to have been killed.

"The victim was found to have injury marks on the head and body," he said in a statement, here today.

Chandra said the body was found following an interrogation on a friend of the victim who was last seen together with the victim.

He said the 23-year-old suspect would be remanded for further investigation and while waiting for the autopsy report.

The police also seized a Honda Accord car belonging to the suspect while the weapon believed to have been used in the incident had yet to be found, he said.
