Pahang emerged as the champions of the King's Gold Cup 2016 after whitewashing Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) 6-2 at the Darul Makmur Stadium here last night.

Pahang last won the title in 2011 when they beat Melaka in the final. They took home the winner's purse of RM40,000 while PDRM were richer by RM20,000 as runners-up.

Pahang's team captain Fauzi Roslan netted four goals which came in the 16th, 18th, 66th and 69th minutes while their other two goals were supplied by Muhammad Shahrul Nizam (55th minute) and Baqiuddin Samsudin (78th).

PDRM's consolation goals were contributed by Muhamad Afzal Nazri in the 43rd and 90th minutes respectively. -- Bernama
