Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak joined some 5,000 at the second series of the "Malam Cinta Rasul" (Love the Prophet) event at the Kampung Bharu Jamek Mosque here, Saturday.

Najib, who was dressed in orange-coloured Baju Melayu with matching sarong arrived at 7.15pm and immediately joined the congregation for Maghrib prayers at the mosque.

The "Malam Cinta Rasul" programme organised by Titiwangsa Umno Youth and the mosque followed thereafter with a "qasidah and selawat" performance by the Al-Yamani group.

Najib then joined the congregation for the Isyak prayers and also 'hajat' prayers to seek Allah's blessings for the wellbeing of the nation.

This was followed by another qasidah peformance by the Al-Yamani group and a talk by preacher Ustaz Ahmad Al-Habsyi who is from Indonesia.

Titiwangsa Umno Youth chief Nazir Hussin Akhtar Hussin when met by reporters said the event was held to seek Allah's blessings for Malaysia to have a good 2015.
