AMSTERDAM: PSV striker Eran Zahavi was forced to miss a match with Willem II on Sunday afternoon due to an armed robbery at his home in Amsterdam.

The footballer's wife and children were at home at the time of the incident at their residence in Amsterdam.

Zahavi received the news of the break-in while travelling to the match in Tilburg.

Local residents have told Dutch media that Zahavi's wife was allegedly assaulted and tied up by the robbers.

The criminals allegedly pretended to be parcel deliverers.

Zahavi has lived in Amsterdam since his arrival at PSV.
