Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) which will be financed through the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), will be able to ease the burden of cost of living of the beneficiaries.

Najib in his Facebook posting today, said 7.2 million applications for BR1M had been approved thus far.

"As I stated in my Budget 2015 speech, BR1M will be financed through the GST which will be implemented soon (on April 1) and I am confident that it will help lighten the cost of living burden of the recipients," he said.

He said the BR1M this time would be paid in stages, up to three times, for the benefit of the rakyat (people) who need it.

Najib said as for those whose applications for the BRIM were rejected, they could submit appeals up to March 31.
