Comedian, actress and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will present the 86th annual Academy Awards Ceremony. She broke the news on her Twitter account (@TheEllenShow) to her around 21 million followers.

Ellen DeGeneres will take the baton from Seth MacFarlane, who presided over this year's ceremony. This will be the second time that the host of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has emceed the event.

As the master of ceremonies at the 79th edition of the Oscars in 2007, she became the first openly homosexual personality to host the event.

The 86th Oscars ceremony will honor the best films of 2013 over the course of a gala evening in Los Angeles's Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 2, 2014.
