KUALA LUMPUR:Malaysian reggae artist Sasi the Don has released a track that captures the tumultuous year that is 2020.

Inspired by the nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty tells about the struggles of common folks as they navigate through the challenges of the pandemic – eventually learning about how strong and resilient they can be.

“As a kid, I was a fan of Humpty Dumpty and the story is relatable. Many of us experienced big falls during the pandemic but unlike the character, we can put ourselves together again.

“This song is about waking you up and telling you not to give up as we never know if something good is coming around the corner,” the 42-year-old singer tells Bernama.

The song is the first track in his upcoming new album “My Second Wave”, which premiered Dec 18 through YouTube.

The song also featured new rapper Eli, a Klang-born 24-year-old discovered by Sasi through an Instagram rap challenge.

“I think it’s important to create an opportunity for newcomers who are struggling but are passionate and filled with talent,” he said.
