Jean-Claude Van Damme has confirmed he is joining the cast of "Kickboxer: Retaliation" reports Variety.

The movie is the sequel to "Kickboxer: Vengeance", in which Van Damme starred as a karate master. The Belgian actor also played the lead role in the original 1989 movie "Kickboxer."

After signing his contract live on video via his official Facebook page this week, Van Damme will now join already confirmed cast members Mike Tyson, Ronaldinho, and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson.

The sequel will also once again star Alain Moussi as Kurt Sloane, who has to fight for his life against a new formidable foe (Björnsson) after he is taken by force back to Thailand.

The project is to be directed by the writer and producer of "Kickboxer: Vengeance," Dimitri Logothetis, who also holds two black belts.

Filming begins in Thailand next week.
