The Ramadan this year will be more meaningful to Spring vocalist Wan Aminuddin Wan Ismail, better known as Ameng, who has been released from the Kluang prison today.

Ameng who is well known for his 'Bourgenvilla' hit song was welcomed by wife Sabariah Zakariah and son Wan Amar Haikal at about 12 noon today.

Ameng, 48, said he was happy to be able to continue his life in a better path now.

“This has been a tough time for me but I am thankful for being able to continue my life with the support from family and friends,” he said when met today.

“I am well and so is my family. Thank God for that,” he added.

The singer who is well-known in the 90s said he also planned to come up with a single titled ‘Tiga Penjuru’.

Ameng said life in prison taught him many things including giving him more time to deepen his knowledge in religion.

Ameng was sentenced to eight years jail and eight strokes of the rotan by Melaka Session Court on Apr 12, 2011 for drug abuse.

However the sentence was reduced with good behaviour.
