The 11th Women's Summit organised by the women, family and community development ministry will be held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre here on Aug 20.

Its minister, Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim, said the one-day event was aimed at bringing together, businesswomen, future directors and entrepreneurs to look at a myriad of ways of perpetuating their dreams.

"This summit represents a vital opportunity for women in Malaysia to deliberate steps in administering policies and reforms, where women can be given better opportunities to ascend in the workplace, achieving the country's vision," she said in a statement here on Monday.

She said the Women's Summit series was a dynamic and energised annual event where excellent women leaders from corporate Malaysia shared their experiences, voiced concerns regarding the workplace, as well as put forward opinions on how their rights could be better enshrined in legislative, economic and cultural reform.

The summit, themed 'Forging Your Own Path', is scheduled to be officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
