20 more skeletal remains, believed to be of human trafficking victims, were removed from the Mata Air Forest Reserve, Felcra Lubuk Sireh, here, this evening.

This brings to 34, the number of skeletal remains brought out from this forest, after 14 were removed yesterday.

Before this, 35 skeletal remains were exhumed and removed from the jungle of Bukit Wang Burma in Wang Kelian, bringing the total number to 69.

Perlis police chief SAC Shafie Ismail, when contacted, confirmed the 20 remains were recovered today from the site known as Grave 24, but he could not give details.

The remains reached Felcra Lubuk Sireh at 6.50pm and placed in the waiting police vehicles before being taken to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar.

The police team met by the waiting group of reporters at Felcra Lubuk Sireh declined to give any information when approached.

Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar had on May 25, announced the discovery at 139 graves, believed to be of human trafficking victims, at 28 transit camps at Bukit Wang Burma, Wang Kelian.
