IPOH: A four-metre-long bull crocodile carcass estimated to weigh 600 kilogrammes was found in Sungai Trong in Taiping on Friday.

Perak Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director Yusoff Shariff said they received a report on the discovery of the carcass yesterday morning.

He said the reptile was estimated to have died two or three days ago.

"Based on initial investigations, the crocodile is believed to have died due to old age as all its teeth were missing or had fallen out," he said when contacted by Bernama here yesterday.

However, he said the department's veterinarian would conduct a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death, adding that the carcass was taken to the Sungkai National Wildlife Rescue Centre for further action.

He advised the public to lodge a report to the department on matters related to wildlife and not act on their own because it would endanger their life.
