KUALA LUMPUR: Android users may soon be able to use ChatGPT as a device assistant on their smartphones.

In an effort to streamline user interaction with ChatGPT on Android, the developers are designing an innovative feature to be introduced into their system, promising a more seamless and efficient experience.

According to Android Authority, the ChatGPT update will come with the 'com.openai.voice.assistant.AssistantActivity' feature, allowing users to set ChatGPT as their device assistant. After manually activating this new feature through ChatGPT, Android users can expect more efficient device usage with advanced system navigation.

Moreover, the Android user experience is set to transform with the introduction of virtual buttons displayed on the screen, eliminating the need for physical buttons on the device to select apps and update the system.

This feature positions Android users on par with iOS (Apple) users who have a system assistant known as Siri. However, with Google's efforts to integrate the AI chatbot Bard technology into Google Assistant, ChatGPT strategically aims to ensure the continued engagement of Android system users.

ChatGPT also targets seamless integration into users' daily routines, solidifying its place as a powerful AI chatbot accessible within the Android ecosystem.
