KUALA LUMPUR:Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, Axiata Group Bhd, Pos Malaysia Bhd and Careplus Group Bhd have been named ‘Best Company for Investor Relations’ at the virtual 10th MIRA IR Awards 2020.

The virtually-held award event was organised by the Malaysian Investor Relations Association (MIRA), in partnership with KPMG.

In a statement, MIRA said Axiata took the award for the Large Cap segment, while Astro, Pos Malaysia and Careplus won the awards for the Mid Cap, Small Cap and Micro Cap segments, respectively.

For the Best Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Investor Relations category, the winners were Kuan Mun Leong from Hartalega Holdings Bhd (Large Cap segment), Leong Kit May from AXIS Real Estate Investment Trust (Mid Cap), Yong Su Lin from MRCB - Quill Real Estate Investment Trust (Small Cap) and Datuk Abdul Hak Md Amin for EA Technique (M) Bhd (Micro Cap).

Themed “Investor Relations: Staying Engaged in a Global Crisis!”, the awards ceremony continues to promote good investor relations, advocating greater transparency and timely as well as fair disclosure to achieve fair valuation for all public listed companies on Bursa Malaysia.

A total of 25 awards in 10 categories polled according to market capitalisation were presented, including Best Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Investor Relations Award, Best Investor Relations Professional Award and Best Investor Relations Website Award.

MIRA said the awards was the result of a cumulative three-months survey, involving legitimate investment professionals covering stocks in Bursa Malaysia.

“In this year’s survey, the impact of COVID-19 was an added factor, besides the established criteria.

“The 43 companies and 66 professionals contending in the respective categories were subjected to diagnostic assessments by KPMG,” it added.
