The body of a victim in the capsize of Ocean Line SC208 which sank in the waters off Pengerang, Johor on Wednesday, was laid to rest today.

The body of Raja Mohammad Firdaus Raja Ikram, 23, was brought to Kampung Idaman mosque near here at about noon for funeral prayers and was laid to rest at 1.30pm.

The victim's eldest brother, Raja Fuad, 30, said the family accepted the demise of his sibling as fated.

"Our mother, Azizah Abdul Aziz, 52, also accepts the loss of her son and is grateful that Raja Mohammad Firdaus's body was found after three days," he told reporters after the burial.

Raja Mohammad Firdaus was the third of five siblings.

Raja Fuad said he received a call at about 5pm yesterday from police to identify a body.

The body of Raja Mohamad Firdaus was the first found in the barge tragedy by a search and rescue team at 3.45pm yesterday about 14 nautical miles from the incident location.

The barge registered in Bolivia capsized in rough seas on Wednesday when it was transporting sand from Teluk Rumunia to Pengerang, Johor.

At the moment, two bodies have been found and efforts to find 12 more missing victims are still being carried out.
