KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed a total of 2,364 new cases reported today, bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 298,315.

The MOH in a Twitter page on Saturday said a total of 3,320 recovery cases were also recorded with a cumulative total of cases recovered at 270,166.

Ten deaths were recorded, bringing the total death cases to 1,121.

It said 190 cases are currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 99 of them requiring respiratory assistance.

Selangor continues to record the highest number of cases by state with 862, followed by Johor 314, Perak 305 and Sarawak 255 cases.

Sabah recorded 157 cases, Penang 155, Kuala Lumpur 117, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 74 cases.

The states of Melaka, Pahang, Putrajaya, Terengganu and Kedah each recorded less than 70 cases.

The MOH also confirmed eight more new clusters were detected in several states on Saturday.

According to its Director-General, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the seven new clusters involved workplaces while another cluster in the community.

The details of the new clusters are the Jalan Scientex Jaya Cluster, Jalan Mega Teknologi, Johor, Jalan Permas Sembilan, Johor, Jalan Gemilang Satu, Johor, Jalan Tampoi Besi, Johor, Kampung Pulau Raja, Kelantan, Jalan Tasek Avenue, Perak (all workplace) and Buloh, Sarawak (community).

A total of 16 clusters were also confirmed to end on Saturday, bringing the total number of clusters that have ended to 644.
