The father of one of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) crew, Lieutenant Azri Bakar prays and hopes for the safety of son who is on board the RMN CB204 combat vessel which has been missing since Sunday morning in Sabah.

Azri’s father, Bakar Hassan is on the way to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Sabah admitted that he still has not received any updates from the RMN.

“I have been asked to go to Sabah and most of the information and updates I get from Astro Awani... dear Allah... please safeguard him."

“We do not know anything, whether he is safe or not. My wife and I are currently on our way to KLIA. We will go to Sabah and wait there,” he said when contacted Monday.

The combat vessel, CB204 went missing after it lost radio communication with the escort vessel at the Gugusan Semarang Lookout area at about 11.15am on Sunday.

On Monday, RMN delegated the search areas for the vessel to ease the Search and Rescue operations (Op SAR) of the 7 vessel crews involved to four sectors in the west of Sabah.

Bakar has asked for everyone to join him in praying for the safety of his son as well as the rest of the crew members on board the vessel.

Bakar resides in Ampang and his wife is reportedly pregnant.
