Hamas has refuted several Israeli media reports which claimed its members were trained in Malaysia to carry out parachute attacks.

“These lies are a sort of media misleading created by Israeli intelligence and aim at distorting the image of growing International solidarity with our People and just cause, at the time that we are facing war crimes and massacres by the Zionist war machine,” it said in a statement today.

The Israelis, Hamas added, will not succeed in distorting the image of the support and solidarity by the Malaysian government and its people, and its stance that rejects Israeli aggression and terrorism.

The unfounded accusations, it said, was an attempt to divert the attention from the ongoing massacres and genocide committed by the Israeli army against the Palestinian civilians, children, women and elderly.

Commenting further, the group said it highly appreciates and values the brave stance and the humanitarian support carried out by Malaysia and its stand by the side of Palestinian people and their rights.

It has been earlier reported that a Hamas fighter under remand by Israeli authorities had revealed that he was trained in Malaysia to carry out cross-border attacks using powered parachute.

Malaysia however denied the matter stating that the country has never been used as a training ground for Hamas fighters or any other similar groups.
