The current haze has spread to more parts of the country.

From 23 areas with air quality at the unhealthy level at 2pm today, now four more areas are facing the same situation.

These four areas are Bandaraya Melaka where the Air Pollutants Index (API) reading is 104, Sri Aman (107), Samarahan (106) and Nilai (117).

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) portal, the 23 areas with API at the unhealthy level are Alor Star (111); Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani (124); Bukit Rambai (113), Port Dickson (114); Seremban (120); Jerantut (111); Jalan Tasek, Ipoh (121); Kampung Air Putih, Taiping (105); SK Jalan Pegoh, Ipoh (128).

Seri Manjung (126); Tanjung Malim (117); Seberang Jaya 2, Perai (118); USM Pulau Pinang (112); Tawau (110); Banting (143); Kuala Selangor (141); Port Klang (180); Petaling Jaya (144); Shah Alam (169); Kuala Terengganu (109); in Kuala Lumpur, Batu Muda (130) and Cheras (117) whereas Putrajaya (127).

An API of between 0 to 50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
