The Sultan Abdul Aziz airport (LTSAAS) in Subang reopened after it closed operations at about 5pm today due to haze.

This was confirmed by Department of Civil Aviation director general Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman who said the airport resumed operations at about 7.30pm.

The worsening haze had forced several flights to be delayed resulting in hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport.

Checks by Astro AWANI saw the situation at the airport under control with passengers queing up to check their flight status and updates.

Earlier, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang had tweeted that his flight to Johor Baharu was delayed because of the haze.

Yesterday, four airlines cancelled 21 flights at the Senai International Airport due to thick haze.

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd's chief operating officer, Noor Safura Suib said the cancellations were due to low visibility of less than 1,000 metres from 6 am to 8.30 am.
