All lanes in both directions of the landslide-hit Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway have been reopened to public since 12.30pm today.

However, Bentong police chief Supt Mohd Mansor Mohd Noor said the final cleaning, safety monitoring and retaining wall installation works along 100 metres of the landslide-hit areas were still ongoing.

Meanwhile, Bentong District Civil Defence Officer Mohd Zulkhairi Adek Awang said the Pahang Forestry Department quarters' occupants, who were evacuated following the landslide at KM52.4 of the expressway last Wednesday, were expected to be allowed to return home tomorrow.

"It all depends on the restoration of the power supply, water and sewerage services to the area before they can be allowed to return to their respective quarters," he told Bernama here.

Apart from causing the expressway to be inaccessible on both directions and a mudflood of nearly 500 metres along the route, the landslide had also caused the 25 quarters' occupants to be evacuated to relief centre at Lentang Mosque.
