Since news on Haziqah Nurul Huda's kuih bakul ('nian gaow' or sticky rice cake) business was reported by Bernama last Wednesday, her story and video had garnered 498,570 views and 8,500 shares over Facebook.

Haziqah Nurul Huda Harun, 20, or Yaya as she is fondly known, admitted she was surprised by the sudden attention and people's interest in her product.

The fourth child of five siblings, said she even received calls from several agencies willing to offer her a business loan.

"But all I want right now is a proper workshop to run this 'kuih bakul' business. Currently I operate from home with the help of my mother and siblings.

"The Social Welfare Department too has offered some form of assistance and there are also requests for me to conduct motivation classes for other entrepreneurs," she said.

The girl said she was also grateful that orders for her cakes have doubled since she became popular over social media.

"I even receive orders from Brunei and Australia," she added.
