KUALA LUMPUR: Limkokwing University founder and President Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing is currently receiving treatment and is in stable condition, unlike allegations circulated on social media.

According to Limkokwing University Senior Vice President Datuk Gail Phung, the businessman was admitted to hospital after falling at his residence which required him to receive treatment.

"We are pleased to inform that his condition is stable, and kindly request that he be given complete privacy so that he can focus on his recovery," she said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, Governing Council of Limkokwing University, Prof Datuk Dr Raduan Che Rose said any dissemination of unauthentic news involving a public figure should be stopped especially when the country is hit by a pandemic.

“Please stop spreading unauthentic rumours. On behalf of Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, I urge Malaysians to pray for Tan Sri's health and well-being for now, " he told Astro AWANI when contacted.
