Malaysians are encouraged to download the MySejahtera and MyTrace applications to enable users to carry out self-health assessment and contact detection of COVID-19 outbreaks.

It also helps the Ministry of Health (MOH) to obtain early information on individual health levels to enable prompt and effective follow-up.

According to Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, MySejahtera will also help assess the health of family members or other registered individuals.

"MySejahtera enables users to carry out self-assessment as well as help MOH to obtain early information on individual health levels to take action quickly and effectively," he said at a MOH daily media conference here on Monday.

In the meantime, Dr Noor Hisham explained that the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) had developed a MyTrace application that would allow the government to conduct contact detection for individuals who are COVID-19 positive.

Commenting on the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), Dr Noor Hisham stressed on several sectors of the economy that are allowed to reopen businesses to comply with the terms and standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the authorities.

He added that if Malaysians continue to adopt new norms in their daily lives, it could break the COVID-19 chain.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had announced that Malaysia would implement the CMCO from May 4.
