The victim only known as Botak was stabbed by his brother following a misunderstanding between the two.
The incident took place in front of their ailing mother and two sisters.
The neighbours who were aware of the fight between the two brothers could not do anything as the front gate of their house was locked. The concerned neighbours then called the police.
A team of policemen from Gombak police station who arrived at the scene found the victim lying dead on a pool of blood.
Police also found the knife used by the suspect in the incident.
The 40-year-old suspect was later apprehended by the onlookers and handed over to the police.
The body has been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for post-mortem.
