Abdul Azim Mohd Yasin, 43, and his wife Sharifah Faraha Syed Husin, 41, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out separately before Judge Sharifah Hascindie Syed Omar.
Sharifah Faraha is charged with unlawful possession of a CZ 75 P-01 CAL.9 LUGER pistol at a house in Kampung Bukit Belimbing, Kuala Selangor, at 8 pm on March 29 this year.
The charge, under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, provides for a maximum jail term of 14 years and at least six strokes of whipping on conviction.
Her husband, Abdul Azim, is alleged to have consorted with her in the knowledge that she was in unlawful possession of a firearm at the same location, date and time.
The charge, under Section 9 of the same Act, is punishable with the same penalties for unlawful possession of firearms.
Deputy public prosecutors Mohammad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad Salim and Fazeedah Faik did not offer bail because offences under the Act are not bailable.
The couple were not represented by lawyers.
The court fixed June 11 this year for mention.
On March 29, the couple were arrested at the Ramadan bazaar in Kuala Selangor near here on suspicion of illegal possession of firearms.
Police said they were suspected of supplying six pistols to the Israeli man, who was arrested at a hotel on Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, two days earlier.
