Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today called on Singapore President Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam who is on a three-day official visit to Malaysia.

The closed-door meeting took place at a leading hotel where the Singaporean leader is staying here.

Najib was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. Joining the prime minister at the session were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar and Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datuk Husni Zai Yaacob.

Dr Tan and his wife, Mary, were earlier accorded a state welcome at Parliament which was graced by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.

This is the Singaporean head of state's first state visit to Malaysia. It is at the invitation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
